Giving Back
Dr. Brown's passion for community service was inspired by his mother, Barbara Brewer.
She was a very active volunteer with multiple organizations, most notable the United States Tennis Association (USTA) of which she served as the President at Sectional and National levels. She also volunteered with the Single Parent Scholarship Foundation of Arkansas and various children's schools. To date numerous individuals have received the USTA Barbara Brewer Community Service Award in recognition of her hard work.
Dr. Brown and the staff of Kaw Valley Hearing are active members of the community and we feel it is vitally important to "Pay it Forward". We have developed a program called our "hearing tree donation". For each hearing aid sold, we will donate a portion of the sale to one of the organizations listed below.

Starkey Hearing Foundation: Starkey Hearing Foundation’s mission is to give the gift of hearing to those in need, empowering them to achieve their potential. By collaborating with governments, nongovernment organizations, and health leaders, their goal is to make hearing healthcare services more accessible for people around the world. Starkey Hearing Foundation continues to travel the globe helping people in need, and to date have given the gift of hearing in more than 100 countries.
Ronald McDonald House: The mission of RMHC is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and their families. Their vision is to have world where all children have access to medical care, and their families are supported and actively involved in their children's care.
Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center: The mission of the Bert Nash Center is to advance the health of the Douglas County community through comprehensive behavioral health services responsive to evolving needs and changing environments.
Special Olympics - Kansas: "Healthy Hearing is the audiology component to the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program. The Healthy Hearing screenings were introduced to Special Olympics athletes at the 1999 World Summer Games.
